The EU has approved a new law banning the sale of products made with forced labour, marking a significant step in the fight to protect human rights.

The Forced Labor Regulation (FLR) mandates the removal of goods linked to forced labour from the EU market.

Under this law, banned products must be withdrawn, donated, recycled, or destroyed. Companies that fail to comply could face fines.

Products can only re-enter the EU market once the company eliminates forced labour from its supply chain.

Walk Free welcomes this positive development, emphasising its importance in holding companies accountable and combatting forced labour on a global scale.
